Job Description

MISO is seeking a talented Senior Resource Adequacy Engineer to join our team. As a key function to facilitate the availability of adequate resource to reliably serve the load, Resource Adequacy is one of near-term priorities of MISO's Market Redefinition initiatives to address the Reliability Imperative.

In this role, you will collaborate and facilitate discussions across many MISO functional areas, vendors, industry partners, regulators, and stakeholders to frame, evaluate and design solutions to meet current and future resource adequacy needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply a solid understanding of current and future resource adequacy policy needs in response to Reliability Imperative
  • Lead and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive resource adequacy policy changes
  • Perform in-depth data analytics with statistical analysis and visualize results through tools such as Tableau to inform trends of resource portfolios
  • Conduct Resource Adequacy processes using various tools, including Astrape SERVM and PowerGEM TARA
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in one of several engineering disciplines
  • 5 years of related experience with Electric or Power Systems, wholesale capacity and energy markets
  • Experience with SAC, RBDC, probabilistic assessment, transmission planning, resource adequacy, or data analytics and visualization
