Critical Care Nurse Specialist for International SOS

International SOS Government Medical Services is seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Nurse Specialist to join our team in Iraq.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will provide comprehensive health services to DOS, DOD, and contractor personnel stationed in Iraq. This role involves using a holistic approach to care for patients requiring acute medical or surgical interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and mental health status
- Collect and analyze patient histories, vital signs, and diagnostic information
- Develop individualized care plans based on patient assessments and healthcare needs
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered by physicians
- Provide direct patient care, including wound care, IV therapy, and monitoring of vital signs
- Educate patients about health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies
- Offer emotional support and counseling to patients and their families during difficult times
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting care provided and patient responses
- Maintain compliance with all project site procedures, standards, and continuing educational and mandatory training requirements
- The role may involve on-call hours and requires the ability to respond to emergencies
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- 2+ years' experience, 6 months' experience within the past year, experience abroad or in austere environment preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred
Compensation and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this position is $92,500 - $122,500 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, benefits include medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, a 401k plan, paid time off, and an annual bonus.
