Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $33.00 - $47.86 per hour, with a $20,000 sign-on bonus for experienced RNs and a $15,000 sign-on bonus for newly graduated RNs. Job Description

This full-time Registered Nurse (RN) position on our 34-bed Oncology Unit requires providing high-quality, individualized care for cancer patients. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing professional judgment and knowledge of roles as it pertains to the Crouse Hospital Professional Nursing Practice Model.
  • Carrying out duties and responsibilities per legal requirements under the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice, with emphasis on leading a culture of safe care.
  • Responsible for all activities requiring assessment, planning, diagnosing, evaluating, judgment, problem-solving, creating and implementing the plan of care.
  • Provides appropriate education to patients and families to promote health, facilitate rehabilitation and maintain wellness. Evaluates effectiveness and revises as appropriate.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • A current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing degree program required.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred.
  • For RNs licensed in or after 2017, completion of a Bachelor's of Nursing Degree will be required within 8 years of the date the license was obtained.
  • If hired as a Graduate Nurse, a NYS limited licensure work permit must be obtained within ninety (90) days of graduation and the GN must successfully pass the NCLEX exam within 120 days of the beginning of employment to obtain the required professional nursing licensure with New York State.
  • Certification in a specialty area preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Location and Schedule

This opportunity is located at Crouse Hospital, specifically in the Medical/Surg Oncology department (4 South Irving). The schedule involves working 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, with even shift differentials on evenings, nights, and weekends.
