Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, implement, and plan nursing care in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments on all patients within the appropriate time of admission utilizing skills of observation, communication, and examination.
  • Plan the patient's care on an individual basis, identifying problems/needs, nursing diagnosis, standards of care/practice, interventions consistent with identified problems, and attainable outcomes.
  • Plan for patient teaching, discharge, and post-discharge needs as appropriate for the patient population.
  • Function independently with treatments, procedures, and equipment appropriate to areas evidenced by adherence to policy, procedure, and competency-based assessment and no pattern or trend of problem.
  • Handle/transport/store/prepares/administers medications/solutions safely and in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Document accurately and timely.
  • Reassess patient's condition, evaluate patient response, and modify plan of care accordingly and in a timely manner.
  • Accept charge responsibilities and assign staff with consideration of patient condition and care requirement, acuity, and complexity of patient's condition.
Requirements
  • Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
  • Licensed in the State of Tennessee.
  • BLS within 90 days of hire.
  • Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire (for certain units).
  • ACLS within 6 months of hire (for certain units).
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire (for certain units).
  • Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly.
  • Requires prolonged standing and working for up to twelve hours a day.
  • Able to stand/work for up to twelve hours a day.
  • Able to lift with assistance up to 250 lbs.
Estimated Salary

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience and location.
