Job Summary

Cummings Resources, LLC is seeking a skilled Plastic Forming Equipment Operator to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining plastic forming equipment to produce high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct the movement of cured plastic from the oven to the forming department and from the forming department to the vinyl and/or crating departments.
  • Operate forklifts and lifting apparatus to move materials and equipment.
  • Study machining instructions, job orders, and blueprints to determine dimensional and finish specifications, sequences of operations, setups, and tooling requirements.
  • Use control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
  • Sand, maintain, and stack molds.
  • Lift work pieces onto worktables manually or with hoists to position work pieces.
  • Position and secure work pieces on tables using bolts, jigs, clamps, shims, or other holding devices.
  • Adjust machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, and temperatures, and amounts, dimensions, and flow of materials or ingredients.
  • Monitor machine operations and observe lights and gauges to detect malfunctions.
  • Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
