Job Summary:

Washington Equipment Manufacturing Company, Inc. is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for building custom equipment based on designs provided through engineering drawings and blueprints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain measurements using various measuring tools to ensure part dimensions, features, and tolerance requirements are met.
  • Safely and accurately assemble materials per written specifications and drawings.
  • Follow all paperwork and documentation procedures, including work orders, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports.
  • Ensure communication flow down using verbal, team meetings, and documentation.
  • Provide maintenance expertise, troubleshooting, and installation on equipment involving mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Test and commission new and used equipment prior to installation.
  • Work with project managers and engineers to develop project schedules and customer updates.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must have, or have the ability to obtain, a US Passport.
  • At least 1+ year of prior experience or training in a manufacturing environment or related position is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings, including bill of materials and assembly instructions.
  • Ability to perform tasks without supervision.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Prior forklift experience/certification is preferred.
  • Punctual attendance and strong attention to detail.

This position involves work in our shop and at job sites where work will be performed both indoors and outdoors. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds, with the assistance of an overhead bridge crane.
