Job Title: WPHPA Office Assistant

At White Plains Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Office Assistant to join our team. As an Office Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to our patients, families, and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments and arrival using our Practice Management System.
  • Perform diversified office-clerical duties, including sending and receiving patient records and documents, scheduling surgical procedures and tests, and verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics.
  • Answer telephone calls, relay messages, and provide information to patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and files.
  • Order office supplies and manage office equipment.
  • Attend meetings, take minutes, and distribute them to relevant parties.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required.
  • Previous patient relation experience required.
  • Previous general office experience required.
  • Previous physician practice experience preferred.
  • Basic medical terminology, Electronic Scheduling, and Electronic Medical Record experience preferred.
Work Environment:

As an Office Assistant at White Plains Hospital, you will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks, and you will be required to use a computer for extensive periods of time. You will also be required to lift and move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
