The State of Idaho is seeking a skilled database analyst to join our Property Tax team. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy organizing and making sense of complex information to create functional database systems.
Responsibilities:
- Interact with internal staff, county staff, and third-party vendors to design and implement database solutions.
- Design databases and data access methods for software applications.
- Provide SQL Server support and maintain the data dictionary.
- Monitor and optimize database usage to ensure efficient performance.
- Administer and manage databases in production environments.
- Apply software releases and patches in counties.
- Plan for database upgrades and forecast storage and infrastructure needs.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of database technologies.
- Occasional travel to counties in Idaho may be required.
Requirements:
- Good knowledge of relational database principles and data normalization.
- Strong understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) and its applications.
- At least one year of experience in installing, administering, and monitoring production databases and database servers.
- Experience interacting directly with clients to analyze customer needs.
