Job Description:

The Cytology Specialist is responsible for the examination and processing of cytology specimens. This role requires a strong foundation in science and laboratory procedures. The ideal candidate will have a Baccalaureate Degree in a science or lab related field and completion of a one year Cytotechnology program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Examination and processing of cytology specimens
• Adequacy determinations for non-Gyn specimens, non-GYN screening
• Skilled in Thin Prep Paps

Requirements:

• ASCP Certification as Cyto-Technologist
• Baccalaureate Degree in a science or lab related field
• Completion of a one year Cytotechnology program

Work Environment:

This role is a Monday-Friday position with normal shifts of 8:00-4:30 or 7:30-4:00. No call, possible rare OT if a procedure goes long. No holidays or weekends. Upon acceptance, the candidate will be required to work a minimum of 32 hours per week.

Specialty Type:

This is a Medical Laboratory Sub Specialty role with a focus on Cytotechnologist Bilingual skills. No EMR Used. Meditech Holiday Coverage Required: No
