Sales and Service Representative

MRC Global is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales and Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our branch operations, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, driving sales growth, and ensuring the safe and effective operation of our branch.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to customer inquiries, develop accounts, and generate quotes using our database.
- Maximize gross margin sales through careful analysis during the quote process.
- Identify and act on opportunities to increase market share by growing sales.
- Provide product information, delivery specifications, and payment terms to customers.
- Assist outside sales and/or branch management in processing priority transactions.
- Work with customers to understand their business needs and provide value-added recommendations to increase sales.
- Enter and maintain purchase orders, customer orders, and trade discounts as needed.
- Collaborate with internal departments to set up and maintain accurate customer files.
- Maintain quality standards and communicate with customers and colleagues to provide technical information.
- Participate in meetings and training opportunities to enhance personal and product knowledge.
- Monitor expected ship dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed.
- Respond to internal and external customer, vendor, and branch inquiries about material and sales.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and additional post-secondary training or education.
- Two or more years of experience in customer service, inside sales, and/or warehouse services with increasing responsibility.
- Demonstrated competence in computer software applications.
- Ability to communicate and promote ideas to others.
- Valid Driver's license with the ability to meet MRC Global's vehicle policy.
- Ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.
- Ability to read and speak English proficiently.
- Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global's guidelines and expectations.
