About the Role

As a High-Pressure Boiler Operations Specialist at RED Rochester LLC, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our high-pressure boilers and associated systems. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily inspections of boiler room equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Oversee the proper operation of the water treatment plant, boilers, turbines, and distribution systems, working closely with your shift operations team to ensure compliance with standard procedures and company policies.
  • Assist with repairs and troubleshooting as needed, using mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Conduct sampling and testing of chemical treatment systems, including unloading bulk chemicals, to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Provide operating support for equipment shutdowns and startups, following standard LO/TO procedures to ensure safety and efficiency.
Requirements

We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual with a minimum of 5 years of experience working with steam boilers, preferably high-pressure boilers and steam turbines. Knowledge of electrical generation systems is also highly desirable.

  1. A City of Rochester S-2 (Stationary Engineers) license is required, with the ability to obtain an S-1 license within one year.
  2. Proficiency in DCS and Ovation control systems is essential, as well as experience with Maximo, Tags Pro, Compliant Pro, and Pi software systems.
  3. A valid driver's license is also required.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and coordinate team members effectively.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
  • Ability to follow procedures, work instructions, and safety/environmental rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated trouble-shooting skills and the ability to recognize opportunities for process improvements.
  • Good MS Office skills, with an emphasis on Excel.
Work Environment

This is an industrial environment that requires working outside in all weather conditions, as well as inside in extreme conditions. The position may involve temperatures ranging from extreme cold to over 100 degrees, and exposure to chemical areas, noisy areas, and areas that may be very dirty. A rotating shift schedule is also required.

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $90,000 and $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
