Job Summary

Banc of California is seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to provide support to the Office of the General Counsel, with a focus on secured lending and corporate transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in banking and finance law, with experience in conducting due diligence, drafting loan documents, and filing security interests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct due diligence on loan customers, including research and analysis of corporate formation documents, organizational charts, and other relevant information.
  • Draft and review loan documents, including loan agreements, security agreements, and other ancillary documents.
  • File UCC financing statements and intellectual property security agreements as necessary to perfect the bank's security interest in assets of loan customers.
  • Assist attorneys with basic regulatory research concerning commercial and lending transactions.
  • Perform legal document management of NDAs, agreements, settlements, contracts, and other documents.
  • Provide support to attorneys and other members of the group on basic legal issues, policies, and programs.
  • Participate in ongoing projects and work with members of the Office of the General Counsel to achieve project goals.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in paralegal studies or a related field.
  • ABA-accredited paralegal certification.
  • 1+ years of experience in secured lending, mergers and acquisitions, or corporate transactional matters.
  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and quickly, while managing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work with general supervision while performing duties.
