About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at DLR Group. As a leader in the field of mechanical engineering, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for buildings across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of mechanical systems for buildings, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression systems.
  • Manage and coordinate with mechanical designers and other team members to produce high-quality construction documents using Revit.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Perform mechanical and HVAC calculations, including code research and compliance.
  • Write and review specifications, and review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Conduct site visits as needed to ensure project quality and compliance.
  • Manage mechanical project teams and/or interdisciplinary project teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • At least 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, including design of HVAC systems, central utility plants, plumbing, and fire suppression systems.
  • Working knowledge of the design and construction process, and ability to communicate with professionals from other disciplines.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and other design software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • LEED accreditation.
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Autodesk Revit workflow.
  • Building energy modeling experience.
