Lead Educational Administrator for New Story Schools

At New Story Schools, we are seeking an experienced and dedicated Executive Director of Special Education to join our team. This key role will oversee the day-to-day operations of our special education programs, ensuring that students receive high-quality educational services.

Salary Range:$90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience

About the Role

This senior leadership position is responsible for leading and managing the special education department, providing strategic direction, and overseeing the implementation of our educational programs. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in special education or a related field, with at least three years of experience working with students with disabilities. A valid Virginia Driver's License and Mandt certification are also required.

The successful candidate will be a seasoned educator with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships with staff, families, and community partners. They will possess knowledge of business and management principles, curriculum design, and instructional strategies, as well as the ability to foster a positive school climate and culture.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the implementation of special education programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality educational services.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
  • Manage budgets and resources, allocating funds effectively to support program operations and student needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with families, community partners, and stakeholders to promote a collaborative approach to supporting students with disabilities.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in special education or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience working with students with disabilities.
  • Valid Virginia Driver's License.
  • Mandt certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles, curriculum design, and instructional strategies.
