Housing Operations Manager for Student Residential Experience

Bard College seeks a Housing Operations Manager to oversee the administration of its residential facilities, providing leadership and vision for the creation, evaluation, and implementation of a comprehensive residential living/education program. This full-time position reports to the Director of Residence Life and Housing and has primary responsibility for overseeing housing operations and statistics.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will manage the housing and operations of Bard College's residential facilities, ensuring a supportive, educational environment that promotes student growth, community responsibility, and academic achievement. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing upper college room selection and first-year and transfer student placement processes
- Coordinating room changes, break housing, and move-in/move-out processes for resident students
- Generating occupancy statistics and other reports as needed to support housing assignment operations and campus partners' needs
- Coordinating summer conference and program housing with various campus partners and summer student housing
- Having a working knowledge of the Housing Director/StarRez software system
The Housing Operations Manager will work closely with colleagues from Deans of Student Affairs, Student Activities, Buildings and Grounds, and Environmental Services to provide a comprehensive on-campus experience for students and address their concerns.
QualificationsTo be considered for this role, candidates should possess a Master's degree in a related field, preferably in student personnel or a related area. They should also have 3-5 years of progressive professional experience in residence hall administration, supervision, website development, database management, student assessment, and oversight of multifaceted processes.
Candidates should demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong customer service and organizational abilities, and proven ability to work collegially with various constituencies. A demonstrated ability to effectively manage and lead projects independently and as part of a team is essential.
Compensation and BenefitsBard College offers a competitive salary range of $60,000-$65,000 per year, commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including multiple health insurance options, TIAA retirement plans, generous vacation, sick, and personal time, and more.
