About the Role

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking a skilled Collaborative Collision Repair Specialist to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences through meticulous vehicle assessments and quality repairs.

Job Responsibilities

The primary duties of this position include:

  • Executing the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan with consistency and attention to detail.
  • Planning repair work, preparing cost estimates for customers, and utilizing various tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
  • Hammering out dents, dimples, and minor body damage, or applying filler resins when other methods are not feasible.
  • Realigning car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
  • Removing damaged sections and replacing them with new or aftermarket parts, including glass and windshields as needed.
  • Replacing or repairing interior parts.
  • Welding and attaching or fitting parts into place, and preparing vehicles for repainting with factory-specified paint or agreed-upon equivalent.
  • Ensuring timely completion of work orders within labor time guidelines and inspecting vehicles after repair to guarantee correct execution.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
  • The ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with other repairers in an auto body shop.
  • Thorough understanding of methods and procedures for repairing vehicle bodies and using required tools.
Working Conditions

This role requires working safely in a noisy area with various odors present. You must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times, visually inspect vehicle damage in diverse weather conditions, and perform repairs and inspections that involve bending, stretching, kneeling, and squatting.

Compensation

This position offers a competitive compensation package, commensurate with skill, education, and experience. The estimated salary range for this role is $21-$27 per hour, based on flat-rate compensation directly tied to turned hours.
