We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Loveland. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol assigned areas to detect and deter illegal activities, and to preserve and protect the safety and security of persons and property.
- Respond to calls for service, gather information, and make arrests as necessary.
- Enforce laws and ordinances, and monitor and enforce traffic codes.
- Participate in community policing initiatives and engage with the public to build trust and confidence.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to achieve common goals.
- Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver's license.
- Must have a Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certification or be able to obtain one by hire date.
- Must have a minimum of 90 quarter hours or 60 semester credit hours from an accredited college or university, or 3 years of active military experience with an honorable discharge.
- Must be able to legally possess and carry a firearm, and meet physical ability test standards set forth in Loveland Police Department Directives.
The Police Officer will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, requiring the ability to think critically and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations. The officer will be required to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and may be required to work in extreme weather conditions.
