Job Summary:

As an Inpatient Physical Therapist at Ochsner LSU Health System of North Louisiana, you will play a vital role in evaluating patients and developing personalized physical therapy treatment programs to help them achieve their goals. Collaborating closely with the healthcare team, you will facilitate seamless transitions to post-acute or home care, ensuring patients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patients and create tailored physical therapy treatment plans based on physician orders.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective patient care and smooth transitions to post-acute or home care.
  • Assess patient responses to treatment and recommend adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with documentation standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Adapt behavior to meet the specific needs of each patient population, including respect for privacy and effective communication.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in physical therapy.
  • Current physical therapy license in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity from another state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Work Environment:
  • Works in a patient care area, directly with patients, and/or with specimens that could contain diseases.
  • May be exposed to blood, body fluids, and tissue.
  • Occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases and hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment.
