As a Licensed Vocational Nurse I at Kaiser Permanente, you will provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician. Your responsibilities will include performing patient care functions, assisting medical personnel with special procedures, and preparing and administering medications as directed by physician orders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Upholding Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures, as well as applicable state, federal, and local laws.
  • Providing patient care functions, considering age-related needs of the patient, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Assisting medical personnel with special procedures, minor surgical procedures, and diagnostic exams.
  • Assessing and monitoring patients' conditions and notifying physicians or healthcare professionals for disposition.
  • Maintaining equipment and supplies, identifying and arranging for equipment needing repair.
  • Applying principles of aseptic technique and infection control as directed by the Infection Control Manual.
  • Monitoring patient flow and assigning/directing other ancillary personnel as needed.
  • Providing medical information and education to patients, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Documenting pertinent patient information, assessment, and nursing procedures following established protocols.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Performing other duties as directed.

This is an on-call position, and days and hours may vary. You must successfully pass or have passed the bilingual test (within the last 12 months) or be active in the QBS program. You will be cross-trained in surgical specialties.

Requirements:

  • Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse.
  • Current Basic Life Support card.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) Level II required.

Notes:

  • This is an on-call position, days and hours may vary.
