About the Role:

The Athletic Trainer at ThedaCare collaborates with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical assessment, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions.

Working under the direction of a physician, the Athletic Trainer plans and administers athletic training services for patients of all ages and ethnic origins.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in athletic training, collegiate rotation experience, and certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATA BOC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates initial injuries and progresses patient care across the continuum pre- and post-injury.
  • Creates individualized holistic plans of care that include cultural diversity and special needs.
  • Identifies and coordinates the need for and use of appropriate resources to aid in the progression of care.
  • Develops and implements rehabilitation programs for patients, monitors progress, and transitions patients back to full activity.
  • Provides referrals to appropriate disciplines as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in athletic training.
  • Collegiate rotation experience.
  • Certified Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATA BOC).
  • Licensed Athletic Trainer by the State of Wisconsin.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS).

Work Environment:

The Athletic Trainer will work in a variety of settings, including physician's offices, rehab clinics, hospital clinics, schools, and industrial or organizational activity settings.

The ideal candidate will be able to move freely and lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
