Columbia Oakwood Surgery Center is a leading healthcare provider committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) to join our OR team.

About the Role

The CNC will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC will direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Admission and Discharge Processes: Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Quality Assessment: Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Patient-Focused Philosophy: Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Nursing Strategies: Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Staff Management: Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommend and implement courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively better organization.
  • Inventory Control: Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Education: Registered Nurse, Associate Degree, Bachelors Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.
