Cafeteria Worker

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cafeteria Worker to join our team at Spencer County. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving food to students and staff in a safe and sanitary environment.

• Prepare and serve food according to established procedures and health and sanitation regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of food, including washing and cutting vegetables, fruits, and meats.
• Operate standard kitchen equipment, such as cash registers, slicers, and graters.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including washing and cleaning counters, steam tables, and equipment.
• Count and maintain inventory records, and notify supervisor of needed supplies.
• Assist other food service personnel with cooking and baking activities.

• High school diploma or GED or other licensed credential for the position.
• Must complete training course for certification of beginning of school food service personnel as prescribed in 702 KAR 6:045.
• Ability to lift, carry, push or pull weights, up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and maintain regular attendance.

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting. The employee must be able to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing, and must be able to use hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
