Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized People and Culture Coordinator to join our team at Hotel Van Zandt in Austin, Texas. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will play a critical role in supporting the overall operation of our HR function and providing exceptional service to our associates and guests.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate associate records and provide support in employment, benefit administration, associate relations, and training.
  • Coordinate, administer, and report on various human resource programs, systems, and procedures to attract, retain, and motivate associates.
  • Assist with benefit enrollment and administration, including group health insurance, 401K, vacation, sick leave, and jury duty pay.
  • Prepare and monitor payroll action forms and input/update ADP new hires, terms, transfers, and manual check calculations.
  • Notify managers of monthly reviews and track all completed reviews to ensure timely completion.
  • Assist with reception duties, greet associates, and direct them to the appropriate manager if necessary.
  • Produce associate newsletters and ensure complete compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act.
  • Conduct exit interviews of hourly associates and log and update in tracking spreadsheets.
  • Keep associate bulletin boards current and post memos, pictures of associate events, and loss prevention materials.
  • Inventory office and benefit supplies on a regular basis and complete purchase orders as needed.
Qualifications
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in HRM or a related field or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of one year hotel or human resource-related work experience preferred.
  • Basic PC knowledge, minimum typing speed of 45 wpm, and ability to write and communicate professionally.
  • Must be hospitality-oriented, possess the ability to work under pressure, and excel in attention to detail.
Physical Demands
  • Transporting supplies up to 35 lbs, carrying training materials, bending/kneeling to lower filing cabinets, and mobility to move around the hotel.
  • Continuous standing to assist in training sessions.
Environment

Work inside 95% of the day.
