Ironworker Helper

We are seeking a highly skilled Ironworker Helper to join our team at TIC - The Industrial Company. As an Ironworker Helper, you will assist skilled craftspersons in performing supportive duties, working under immediate supervision.

• Read specifications or blueprints to determine material requirements.
• Assist in fabricating metal parts, such as steel frames, columns, beams, or girders, according to blueprints or instructions.
• Unload and position prefabricated steel units for hoisting, and hoist steel beams, girders, or columns into place using cranes or signaling equipment operators.
• Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural steel members using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, or levels.
• Cut, bend, or weld steel pieces using metal shears, torches, or welding equipment.
• Assemble hoisting equipment or riggings, such as cables, pulleys, or hooks, to move heavy equipment or materials.

• A high school diploma or equivalent with previous experience in the field or a related area.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position, including the ability to understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively.
• Field experience in the chosen craft discipline and knowledge of safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools, and layout tools.
• The ability to work in a construction environment, exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions, and to move and work in and around confined and cluttered places.

The Ironworker Helper will work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required, and may be required to use ladders, mechanical platforms, manlifts, or scaffolds to access required equipment or work areas.
