We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our team at Wexford Hospital. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a critical role in providing distributive pharmacy services, assistance, and support to our registered pharmacists.
Key Responsibilities- Process medication orders, including computer order entry, medication preparation, and assembling all items prior to pharmacist final check.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory and supplies according to established policies and procedures, including inspection of assigned areas and use of pharmacy computer systems.
- Provide customer service by taking patient prescriptions and documenting all required information, handling all customer interactions in a courteous and efficient manner, and releasing medications required by policy/procedure.
- Validate Medicaid, Medicare, or commercial insurance drug coverage and ensure adjudication is complete, addressing any error messages, and handle cash, prepare deposits, and accounting reports.
- Compound, stock, repack, and batch from bulk medications, prepare routine patient orders for IV pharmaceuticals, including compounding, preparation, and labeling of any IV admixture, including antibiotics, solutions, irrigations, narcotics, parenteral nutrition, and chemotherapy.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or ExCPT Pharmacy Technician - National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Incumbents in role as of July 1, 2022 must achieve CPhT by 1/1/2024.
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or 1 year equivalent experience in lieu of formal training program.
- 1 year of pharmacy experience in respective area.
