About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Breastfeeding Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide expert lactation management services to families experiencing breastfeeding difficulties.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong nursing background, with a focus on lactation consulting and education. You will work closely with our healthcare providers to deliver high-quality care and support to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct prenatal breastfeeding classes and evaluate educational outcomes
  • Provide consultation and outpatient care for families experiencing difficulty breastfeeding
  • Serve as a consultant for healthcare providers concerning lactation as it relates to patient health problems
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Previous RN experience in Women's Services, preferably with lactation consulting experience
  • Current Texas State RN license; CPR; NRP; IBCLC certification within 1 year of hire/transfer if previous lactation consulting experience and no experience within 2.5 years based on IBCLC required worked hours
