We are seeking a part-time Domestic Violence Counselor to provide individual counseling services and support group services to survivors of domestic violence.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in counseling psychology, social work, or a related field, and clinical experience working with victims of trauma.

This position includes daytime, evening, and/or weekend hours based on agency need and employee availability.

The Domestic Violence Counselor will provide on-site and virtual individual counseling services, support group facilitation, and attend weekly clinical individual and biweekly group supervision with the Director of Counseling.

The mission of Laurel House is to advocate for and empower those impacted by domestic violence by providing crisis intervention, safe haven, and appropriate programs and resources.

Laurel House is dedicated to the vision of ending domestic violence in each life, home, and community throughout Montgomery County.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Providing on-site and virtual individual counseling services to community consumers and Safe Haven Center residents;
  2. Providing support group facilitation virtually and on-site at the Safe Haven Center;
  3. Attending weekly clinical individual and biweekly group supervision with Director of Counseling;
  4. Arranging appointments for and returning calls to consumers in a timely manner;
  5. Collaborating as needed with other service providers of consumers being served, with participants' written permission;
  6. Attending staff meetings, as requested;
  7. Maintaining accurate notes for recordkeeping purposes;
  8. Maintaining accurate records of licensure accrual hours, if not already licensed;
  9. Functioning as a member of the team, actively contributing to discussion and decision-making.
