As a Licensed Practical Nurse at Saint Joseph Health System, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. Under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, you will implement, direct, and communicate the nursing process, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients, visitors, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the RN to develop and implement patient plans of care, incorporating subjective and objective data to inform decision-making.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate and implement patient care.
- Supervise and evaluate the care provided by non-licensed team members, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
- Document nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations of patient responses, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.
- Identify potential emergency situations and initiate appropriate responses, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
- Provide teaching materials to patients and families under the direction of the RN, promoting education and empowerment.
- Participate in the development and modification of patient plans of care, responding to patient needs and preferences.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, adhering to hospital policies and procedures for isolation techniques, use of restraints, falls prevention, blood transfusions, and safe medication administration.
- Attend mandatory skills validation, staff meetings, and continuing education as designated by individual department standards.
- Assist with the orientation of new employees, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
- LPN Indiana license.
- BLS certification on hire or able to attain within 60 days.
- No experience required other than educational program.
