We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Faculty Group Practice team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Responsibilities- Assist RNs in patient care tasks, adhering to NYS LPN scope of practice and NYULH policy.
- Provide competent, safe, and compassionate care, emphasizing understanding of patient challenges.
- Check vital signs, record medical history, and perform specialized tasks as assigned, including phlebotomy and point-of-care testing.
- Participate in patient-centered quality and performance improvement programs.
- Acquire and maintain current LPN knowledge and competence.
- Support NYULH missions, philosophy, standards, goals, and objectives.
- Collect patient healthcare data systematically and enforce adherence to NYULH and FGP policies and procedures.
- Participate in coordination of unit activities to provide patient care in a healing, humane, and caring environment.
- Engage in self-assessment and participate in activities to promote own professional growth and development.
- Obtain patient vital signs, weights, EKGs as needed, and perform blood collection/phlebotomy as needed.
- Administer medications, including injections, in accordance with NYULMC clinical guidelines and NYS Scope of Practice.
- Assist with maintaining patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas, and ensure chart availability for physician review.
- Maintain awareness of current patient-centered evidence-based practices and use knowledge of applicable research data in provision of patient care.
- Collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary team and promote collegial relationships.
- Assist patients and communicate with licensed providers to obtain prescription renewals as needed.
- Perform patient-related functions as directed by the Licensed Provider and/or Registered Nurse (RN), and document properly.
- Graduate of LPN program with current NYS OP LPN licensure and registration.
- Ability to complete multiple tasks efficiently and thrive in a team work environment.
- Physical stamina, manual dexterity, visual and aural acuity to perform responsibilities.
