Part-Time Lifeguard

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Part-Time Lifeguard at the City of Conroe. As a lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons in our pool(s) and surrounding environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a first responder in emergency situations, providing immediate assistance and care to individuals in need.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all members, participants, and guests, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.
• Enforce all City and Center policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and secure environment.
• Participate in regular in-service training sessions to stay up-to-date on the latest safety protocols and procedures.
• Conduct routine pool maintenance duties, including testing water chemistry and inspecting mechanical systems.
• Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Minimum age of 15.
• Pursuing a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current American Red Cross Certifications in Lifeguarding and CPR for the Professional Rescuer.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of and up-to-date certifications in lifeguarding and CPR.
• Excellent communication and public relations skills.
• Ability to walk, stand, kneel, climb, sit, and swim for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.

Physical Demands:

The work requires medium physical effort, involving the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crouching, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, talking, and walking.

Requirements:

• Pass a background check and pre-employment substance abuse screening.
• May require a motor vehicle record check and job-related doctor's physical exam.
• Subject to random drug and alcohol testing after hire.
