Salary

The estimated annual compensation for this role is $149,000 to $204,800.

About the Position

Bio-Rad Laboratories seeks an experienced intellectual property counsel to develop and manage its global patent portfolio, provide trademark advice, and support business growth.

This position involves:

  1. Patent Portfolio Development: Develop and manage company patents, analyzing third-party patents and freedom-to-operate studies.
  2. Trademark Services: Provide guidance on trademark matters, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  3. Licensing Agreements: Draft and negotiate intellectual property licensing agreements that align with business objectives.
  4. IP Due Diligence: Conduct thorough IP due diligence to ensure seamless transactions and minimize risks.
  5. IP Monetization Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop a comprehensive IP monetization strategy, unlocking new revenue streams.
  6. IP Training and Counseling: Offer expert training and counseling on IP-related matters, fostering a culture of innovation and compliance.
Requirements

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  1. A JD from an accredited Law School; a degree in a Life Science field is an added benefit.
  2. At least 5-7 years of experience in Intellectual Property Law, preferably in a law firm or corporation.
  3. Previous in-house experience in a life science or clinical diagnostics company is highly desirable.
  4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
