Director of Hyperbaric Medicine and Safety

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to oversee the operations of our hyperbaric program, ensuring the safety of all treatments and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the hyperbaric department, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Develop and implement hyperbaric treatment protocols following best practices and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to create individualized patient treatment plans, focusing on exceptional patient care.
  • Monitor patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Operate Multi Place and Mono Place chambers in an outpatient setting, prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
  • Maintain and calibrate hyperbaric equipment and chambers, adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Manage program budget, implementing cost-effective strategies to optimize resource allocation.
  • Provide staff training and education on hyperbaric medicine and procedures, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Conduct regular meetings to maintain effective team communication and coordination, driving results-oriented collaboration.
  • Stay up-to-date on advancements in hyperbaric medicine, incorporating new practices and technologies into the program to enhance patient care and safety.

Safety Focus:

  • Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures within the hyperbaric department, prioritizing employee and patient well-being.
  • Perform regular safety audits and inspections of equipment and chambers, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations concerning hyperbaric medicine and safety, maintaining a strong reputation for excellence.
  • Investigate and report safety incidents, taking prompt corrective action to prevent recurrence and minimize risk.
  • Provide safety training, ensuring staff familiarity with emergency procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with facility safety committees to address safety concerns and implement improvements, driving a culture of proactive safety.
  • Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, incidents, and training, facilitating data-driven decision-making.
  • Serve as the primary contact for safety-related inquiries within the hyperbaric program, providing expert guidance and support.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Certification in Hyperbaric Medicine (e.g., CHT, CHWS) required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in hyperbaric medicine, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of hyperbaric chamber operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail, driving results-oriented performance.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., UHMS, NFPA).
  • CPR and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
