We are seeking a skilled Medical Authorization Specialist to join our team in New York City. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless interactions between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.

About the Role

This is a contract-to-hire position with the possibility of converting to full-time employment after 5-6 months. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in healthcare operations, particularly in benefits verification, prior authorization, medical billing, or coding.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contact insurance companies to verify patient benefits and coverage details
  • Manage submission of prior authorization requests for prescription medications via ePA, fax, and phone
  • Review clinical information and ensure all required documentation is included with submissions
  • Document and escalate any issues related to prior authorization requests (e.g., need for additional information or documentation from providers)
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities. You must also be proficient in using web-based tools and systems.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $21-$25 per hour. After completing onsite training in Manhattan, you will have the opportunity to work remotely. Our company values flexibility and offers a guaranteed 40-hour workweek with variable hours ranging from 9 AM to 8 PM EST.
