About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at Stratford Manor in West Orange. As a member of our therapy team, you will work closely with our Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality care to our residents.

Job Summary

The Occupational Therapy Assistant will work under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist to select therapy activities that meet the needs and capabilities of our residents. You will assist residents in carrying out daily activities, monitor their progress, and provide encouragement and support. Additionally, you will teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function and work collaboratively with the therapy team to establish a rehabilitation plan.

Responsibilities
  • Select therapy activities to fit residents' needs and capabilities
  • Assist residents in carrying out daily activities
  • Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities and provide encouragement
  • Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function
  • Work collaboratively with the therapy team to establish a rehabilitation plan
  • Supervise residents' activities to ensure they are done properly
  • Report residents' progress to the Occupational Therapist
  • Handle administrative and clerical tasks for the therapy team
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Current Occupational Therapy Assistant license
  • Experience in long-term-care settings preferred
