MRI Imaging Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Use knowledge of imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy to create high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists and other medical professionals.
- Explain the MRI process to patients and ensure they comply with all safety standards, screening patients for MRI safety prior to procedure performance.
- Modify technical settings and adjust scanning parameters to enhance images and minimize unnecessary exposure.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on scanner and related equipment and archive imaging data.
- Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images, and sequence of exposure, and label appropriately.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Perform radiological procedures when not performing MRI duties.
- Assist radiologists with procedure performance.
- Become cross-trained and competent in CT procedures.
- Perform injections of contrast media in compliance with existing operating policies and procedures.
- Completion from an accredited school in radiologic technology or a related area.
- Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
- Requires ARRT certification in MR technology.
- 1 year previous experience in diagnostic radiology or other imaging modality preferred.
- State License based on Clinical Specialty, as determined by state requirements.
- Diagnostic Imaging Function & Usage.

- Patient Safety.
- Medical Specialty: Radiology.
- Picture Archiving and Communication (PACS) Systems.
