Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Waverly Health Center. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care in our Emergency Department, working collaboratively with our physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients of all ages presenting to the Emergency Department with a range of symptoms, illnesses, and injuries.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including laboratory tests, imaging studies, and electrocardiograms.
  • Administer medications and request consultations from qualified healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Write brief admission orders and participate in the stabilization of patients with major illnesses or injuries.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.

Requirements

  • Current Iowa Board of Nursing Certification as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the Specialty of Certified Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current Iowa Registered Nurse License.
  • Current DEA registration and State of Iowa Controlled Substances Act registration.
  • Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree plus three years of directly related clinical experience.
  • Ability to function independently under general guidance of the supervising Physician and the policies and procedures of the institution.
  • Ability to maintain emotional stability in emergency situations.
  • Valid certifications as determined by hospital privilege delineation.
  • Ability to learn and navigate computer systems, including the online training modules, employee timesheet, and performance appraisal system.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write fluent English.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting: Approximately 25% of shift.
  • Standing: Approximately 50% of shift.
  • Walking: Approximately 25% of shift.
  • Lifting: Approximately 25 pounds.
  • Twisting: Infrequent.
  • Bending: Infrequent.
  • Squat/Kneel: Not a requirement.
