Chemotherapy Infusion Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Summit Cancer Centers in North Spokane Valley, Washington. As a Chemotherapy Infusion Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, individualized care to oncology patients. Our team is dedicated to making a positive impact on patients and working together to achieve our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely administer chemotherapeutic agents to patients as ordered by physicians, adhering to ONS standards and guidelines.
Accurately and safely dispose of biohazardous waste, following OSHA and HRS guidelines.
Conduct ongoing patient assessments and document treatment rendered in OncoEMR, ensuring accurate charges are captured.
Follow the Company's I.D. policy and procedure with every patient encounter.
Educate patients and families about medications, side effects, and planned treatment courses, interacting with them in a caring and professional manner.
Participate in chemotherapy classes as needed, teaching patients and families about medications and treatment plans.
Prioritize incoming calls and messages from patients, family members, hospitals, nursing facilities, pharmacies, and physician offices, responding accordingly in a timely manner.
Assist with inventory and re-stocking medical supplies, recommending purchases as needed and placing stock in storage areas in a timely manner.
Have working knowledge of dispensing medications via Nucleus, performing cycle counts, and restocking medications within the appropriate time frame.
Enter all appropriate patient charges into Nucleus.
Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of all patient and employee information at all times.
Assist in training new employees to related job duties.
Requirements:
Registered Nurse, licensed in the State of employment, with experience in IV therapy preferred.
Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital is preferred.
Strong critical thinking skills and ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Current CPR & BLS certifications are required.
Fluency in the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills is required.
Valid Driver's license, in state of residency, for travel to clinics.
Monday - Friday, No Weekends
