Job Overview


We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team in Washington State. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a managed care organization and make a difference in the lives of our members.



About the Role

This position involves providing support to our Utilization Management (UM) team by conducting Transition of Care (TOC) assessments and authorizing reviews for behavioral health services. You will ensure timely and accurate evaluations of member needs, care coordination, and compliance with regulatory standards.



Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough TOC assessments and authorization reviews to ensure optimal care outcomes
  • Collaborate with facilities to perform discharge planning and coordinate care transitions
  • Provide coordination support to members transitioning between care settings or returning home from hospitalization
  • Identify member needs and provide support to ensure necessary services are available during the transition period
  • Collaborate with providers, office staff, and Care Coordination team to assure coordination of care in a timely manner
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Work closely with our UM team to ensure seamless service delivery


Requirements

  • Clear and active LMHC, LICSW or LMFT license in state of WA
  • At least 3 years of experience in behavioral health; with emphasis in transition of care, discharge planning, or case management experience
  • Experience in conducting utilization reviews and making authorization determinations
  • Strong understanding of care transitions and regulatory requirements in behavioral health
  • Masters degree
