Occupational Therapy Assistant Instructor

Central Penn College seeks a licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to teach various classes in our Occupational Therapy Assistant Program. The program operates on a term cycle with four terms annually, each consisting of eleven instructional weeks. We require an instructor with pediatric experience who can teach on campus during the day. Key Responsibilities:

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate and maintain current subject area knowledge.
  • Strive for student success by providing quality instruction that results in students' achievement of course and program objectives, retention of students, and preparation for employment as an OTA.
  • Adhere to academic policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records for each course taught.
  • Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree is required and current Pennsylvania OTA license, or the ability to obtain licensure.
  • Associate degree holders who are willing to obtain a Bachelor's degree through Central Penn College's tuition assistance plan can also be considered.
  • Expertise to teach pediatric coursework.
  • Understanding of and compliance to standards of Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) is preferred.
  • Experience in education and knowledge of evolving education/fieldwork needs, programming trends, and teaching.
  • The ability to use online teaching and learning platforms, and effectively use technology in the everyday work environment.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, faculty, and College academic leaders.
