Job Description

The TEC Group is seeking a highly skilled Automotive Field Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our service center, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences and providing top-notch vehicle repairs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with daily Amazon EDV business operations, including shuttling vehicles between delivery stations.
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections on new vehicles, using a documented process and checklist.
  • Document results of pre-delivery inspections and communicate with team members and supervisors.
  • Follow established repair procedures with efficiency and quality.
  • Perform or assist with assigned diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections on vehicles.
  • Assist with vehicle repairs in a setting outside of a service center.
  • Conduct road tests on vehicles to ensure quality of repairs.
  • Perform necessary parts operations, including ordering, receiving, shipping, and inventory management.
  • Stay up-to-date with technical skills and required training.
  • Support campaigns and containment initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate expense reporting as needed.
  • Establish peer relationships and work under the mentorship of a senior technician.
  • Maintain high-quality work and efficiency while working with minimal supervision.
  • Work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Provide service support to the field to support the Service organization.
  • Communicate professionally in a customer-facing environment.
Qualifications:
  • Level 1 Technician: Less than 2 years of experience in a directly related trade, with no automotive specific training required.
  • Level 2 Technician: 2-4 years of experience in an automotive specific environment, with exposure to various repairs.
  • Level 3 Technician: 5+ years of automotive experience, with EV experience preferred.
  • HS Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Graduated from an accredited automotive repair school preferred.
  • One year experience working in an automotive repair shop preferred.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to drive a non-commercial truck and trailer preferred.
  • Must be available for a regular schedule of 40 hours a week, including weekends and holidays, according to business need.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Experience using a work order management system, including repair documentation.
  • Experience working in start-up environments preferred.
  • Exhibits patience and eagerness to learn.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, along with attention to detail.
  • Physical exertion may be required to perform occupational tasks.
  • Must be available for a regular schedule of 40 hours a week, including weekends and holidays, according to business need.
  • No driving-related suspensions or revocation of Driver License within a 3-5 year period.
  • Ability to read and speak fluent English.
  • Ability to properly document repairs completed and in process.
