We are seeking an experienced Financial Risk Manager Lead to lead our underwriting team in assessing and evaluating risk for our organization.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in underwriting principles, risk assessment, and team management, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of underwriters, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure consistent and high-quality underwriting decisions.
  • Develop and implement underwriting policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and analyze underwriting data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize underwriting processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, risk management, and claims, to streamline underwriting workflows and improve overall efficiency.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on underwriting matters, providing guidance and training to underwriters and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting underwriting practices, and make recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer service, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor underwriting performance metrics and KPIs, and provide regular reports and updates to senior management.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of management experience in Risk, Finance, Underwriting or credit analysis.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in banking, credit, and/or ACH processing is a plus.
  • Must have experience with Merchant Acquiring.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Estimated Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
