As a Pharmacy Technician at Marshall Medical Center, you will play a vital role in the overall operation of the pharmacy by providing accurate, efficient, and timely medication supplies to patients. Under the direction of the Pharmacy Director and under the immediate supervision of the Distribution Pharmacist, you will assist in providing optimal pharmaceutical therapy in Acute Care, Transitional Care, Oncology, and Home Care for geriatric, adult, and pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and distribution of medications to patients
Maintain accurate records of medication supplies and patient information
Collaborate with Clinical Pharmacists to provide optimal pharmaceutical therapy
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure efficient and effective medication distribution
Requirements
Current California Pharmacy Technician License
Pharmacy Tech Certification Board (PTCB) Certification within one year of hire
Six months experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an acute care hospital pharmacy, providing unit dose and IV additive service or home care pharmacy
Knowledge of medications and use, ability to read physician orders, and familiarity with medical terminology
Basic High School Chemistry experience, basic math competency, basic mechanical aptitude skill, good interpersonal communication skills, and basic computer aptitude
