Occupational Therapist Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Excelin Health. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in the implementation of standards of care for occupational therapy services and adherence to all conditions outlined in the Service Agreement.
About the RoleThis is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a licensed Occupational Therapist with a strong background in patient care and rehabilitation. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities- Evaluate patients' functional status, including muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, self-care ability, and work capacity.
- Evaluate home environments for hazards or barriers to independent living, identifying equipment needs and participating in the development of total plans of care.
- For patients returning to work, perform work capacity evaluations and refer to specialized vocational training according to Organization policy.
- Develop treatment programs and establish goals for improved function, communicating plans of care to referring physicians and other professionals.
- Teach new skills or retrain patients in daily activities lost due to illness or injury, in accordance with Organization policy.
- Fabricate splints and instruct patients in the use of adaptive equipment to improve function.
- Train patients in prosthetic and/or orthotic devices.
- Instruct patients' family/caregivers and other health care personnel in treatment regimes when indicated and appropriate.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants according to organization policy and state regulations.
- Participate in discharge planning for patients.
- Graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Two years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist.
- Possesses and maintains current CPR Certification.
- Licensed driver with an automobile insured and in good working order.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $70,000 - $90,000, depending on experience and location. Excelin Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
