About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Recreational Therapist to join our team at Ridgeview Institute Monroe. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in planning and executing engaging activity services for our patients, contributing directly to their treatment goals and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe and apply sound judgment in patients' physical and mental conditions/needs.
  • Document and communicate changes in patients' appearance, behavior, and ability to work towards treatment plan goals.
  • Provide assessment in psychosocial/leisure and recreational skills development/deficiency.
  • Assist patients in achieving their optimum level of independent functioning.
  • Plan and implement activity therapy for assigned patient case load within the facility.
  • Model and teach appropriate social, coping, and stress management techniques to patients.
  • Contribute to treatment plans with specific goals and interventions in therapeutic activities.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in occupational therapy, art, music, recreational therapy, humanities, or movement therapy. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: One (1) year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with an understanding of mental illness preferred.
  • Additional Skill Requirements: Successful completion of CPR Certification and CPI before assisting with restraining procedures and within 30 days of employment.

Compensation: This is a PRN role and the expected compensation is $25.00 hourly. We're eager to engage with all qualified candidates, and consideration will be provided to experience and skill level.
