Medical Technologist

At the Detroit Medical Center, we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team in the laboratory department. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, which are essential for diagnosing and treating patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform a variety of laboratory tests on patient specimens, including blood, urine, and tissue samples.
- Analyze test results and prepare samples for further testing.
- Calculate test findings and maintain accurate records.
- Prepare and validate solutions, reagents, media, stains, and other materials used in the testing process.
- Process and test all types of laboratory specimens, review and report lab results, and perform operational duties, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
- Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology, or equivalent experience.
- Prefer 6 months to 1 year of medical laboratory technologist or clinical laboratory scientist experience in an acute care facility.
- Required: Registered or registry eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT, or CSMLS within 12 months of hire).
