Austin Oaks Hospital is a 80-bed facility that offers a broad spectrum of psychiatric services for adults. As a Registered Nurse (RN) PRN, you will provide nursing care for psychiatric patients using the nursing process.

Job Summary

The RN PRN will assess mental health needs, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care. You will administer and/or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician. Ensuring safety and providing milieu management and crisis intervention strategies are also key responsibilities of this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current Texas State Registered Nurse License
  • BLS certification and Aggressive Behavior Management training within 90 days of hire date
  • One year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting (preferred)
