Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Transcriptionist to join our team at CGH Medical Center. As a Medical Transcriptionist, you will be responsible for interpreting and transcribing dictation from medical staff and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transcribe highly technical medical, surgical, and multi-specialty dictation to provide a permanent record of patient care
  • Answer calls from hospital departments and handle all requests
  • Process questionable transcribed medical reports forwarded by other medical transcriptionists
  • Identify and notify Supervisor of software and equipment problems
  • Maintain 1250 lines per day for full-time employees and prorated for part-time employees
  • Maintain monthly 98% or greater accuracy

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Medical Transcription or certificate from an accredited medical transcription training program preferred
  • Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) and/or Accredited Record Technician (ART) preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years hospital or multi-specialty clinic transcription experience strongly preferred
  • Advance computer literacy with computer software application preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred
