Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Post-Surgical Unit. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will provide direct nursing care to patients recovering from surgery, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing various medical procedures.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, taking into account the patient's medical history, current condition, and treatment goals.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, including physicians, therapists, and other nurses.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, identifying any changes or concerns and communicating them to the healthcare team.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing with a current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Minimum one year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting, with a focus on post-surgical care.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required depending on the unit.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
