Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team at the Boston Children's Hospital. As a key member of our cardiology unit, you will provide exceptional care and support to patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide basic direct care to patients as delegated by a Registered Nurse, including feeding, hygiene, and vital sign monitoring
  • Assist patients with menu selection, prepare occupied and unoccupied beds according to established procedures
  • Establish supportive relationships with patients and families, providing care and support as needed
  • Closely monitor and maintain the safety of patients, reporting any concerns or escalating behaviors to the RN
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Able to gather and interpret data in routine situations, exchanging information on factual matters and explaining hospital policies
  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to identify risk factors and report concerns
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
