Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse Corrections

The Licensed Practical Nurse Corrections Specialist works in a fast-paced corrections facility environment, providing high-quality nursing care to inmates and maintaining facility security standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Integrate and implement referrals of inmates to healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor patient condition and report changes to RN and/or physician.
  • Collaborate with RN regarding the plan of care and document patient responses.
  • Participate in infection control activities and monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
  • Participate in the orientation and continuing education of staff as applicable.
  • Adhere to all facility policy and procedure.
Requirements:
  • Possesses a current Practical Nursing License in the applicable state.
  • Minimum of one year experience in Corrections preferred.
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR if applicable.
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
